ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:The constant sound of rain hitting the ground could be heard from the silence within the library. It had been raining all day and didn’t look like it was going to let up any time soon. The day had started off clear but by lunch had turned dark and dull, wet droplets of rain falling from the sky constantly. Most had simply retired to their dorms and some where hanging out in the empty classrooms. Apart from the dark haired girl the library was virtually empty. There were a few of her friends wandering around, looking for a good book to read. Grace sat on one of the soft chairs reading a thick novel. It was a hardback and the paper cover had been discarded, leaving only a dark blue cover with no title on the front. The title, however, was printed on the spine in curly letters. It read: Eragon. She had read it already but it was the first book she had picked off the shelf. Already she was nearly half way through, although she had been skipping a few parts. In her opinion there were no boring parts at all but she was desperate to get to the really interesting scenes in the novel.
She hardly noticed when someone pulled up the seat opposite her and lay down a book with a loud clunk. She looked up for a second to see one of her friends and she let out a small smile before returning to her part in the book. A loud crash of thunder rang out and she jumped slightly, turning around to see a flash of light from the winder. Great, she thought, a thunderstorm. Just what I need right now. Already she was wishing she could be outside in the courtyard reading her book. It was her favorite spot to relax and escape into a good novel but it was impossible to do that now. The courtyard was all exposed and even the small undercover areas were wet. If she went outside her book would get wet and the library would not be too happy about that.
“I’m going,” she whispered to the girl opposite her before getting up to place the book back on the shelf. At that moment, she forgot where she had even gotten it from. Sighing she looked at the reference on the side. It was at least three aisles across. She started walking, taking her time and going up and down each of the aisles until she found the right one. Walking along it she looked for P-A-O carefully. Once she found that she used her excellent knowledge of the alphabet to place the book in the correct spot, right next to Eldest, the sequel. The third book was nowhere to be seen. “Must be on loan,” she mumbled to herself before turning on her heels to go back to the desk and pick up her stuff.
She walked down that aisle and stopped. There, at the end of the aisle was a pile of books. Only, it wasn’t a pile, more of a heap. The books were strewn everywhere. She began breathing heavily, her eyes gazing frantically over each of the book titles. They were all from the M section, the next row over. Bending down, she secured them all into a nice neat pile, only to find that she couldn’t carry them all at once. Great, she thought angrily. She was already behind on her homework after spending too much time reading. Now, she had to deal with this mess too. It’s gonna be a long day
