Wil's a bad man trying to be good, sometimes with more success than others. A Shtriga born before the Reformation, he's so old that he's practically young again and always struggling against his own inherent nature. He hunts to try to balance the accounts as best he can, concentrating on demons and the undead. The moral ambiguity of hunting creatures bothers him, for obvious reasons.

The bright center of his life is Tish, his adoptive daughter. He's supremely protective of her and though he's raised her on the road and has been teaching her to fight since she was old enough to walk and talk he has no intention of allowing her to go into the 'family business.' He tends not to introduce Tish to people he meets through hunting, not unless a real friendship develops between them, and will even go so far as to try to conceal her existence from random hunters. Just in case.

He's cocky as hell, or rather what he is is supremely and supernaturally self-confident and it comes off as cocky because of his apparent youth and the cultivated roughness of his speech and behaviors. Wil knows how young he looks, and he uses it to guide people away from figuring out what he actually is.

and the city blocks, they drive me wild. they're neverending, mile after mile

Wil's a good acquaintance but a reluctant FRIEND. He's too wary of the gadfly loyalties of mortals, there are only a few people in his life who he really trusts. This isn't to say that he's unwilling to find it, just that he doesn't fall into real friendships casually.

He's monogamous by nature, and would prefer a LOVER who was a permanent or at least recurring fixture in his life. But because he's so rootless as a hunter and because his primary focus is always on Tish, he mostly contents himself with one night stands. At least that's been the pattern for the past couple of years.

If you want to make an ENEMY of Wil it's easy: do anything to hurt his daughter. Other than that, he has a special hatred for the kind of monsters that will target a family and run through its members one after another, and has cultivated some little skill in eliminating them. Almost nobody knows that he does so because of his shtriga nature, mostly because almost nobody knows that he's a shtriga.
