He waited, as patiently as he could for her to respond. He was just…stunned, maybe even baffled that she could ask such a question. Was she the dumbest angel he had met? He shook his head a little bit as he stared at the ceiling for a while – as if asking God ‘why’, yet God would be one of the last souls that he would be talking to in a while. If he ever spoke to his father again, it would not be a very happy conversation; there might even be some bloodshed in involved there. Maybe…finally, that would be the last conversation they would have and he would finally defeat his father.
Still, that time was a ways away and he was still stuck in Hell. Right now, he was still comfortable using Zerachiel’s dream. It was the most exciting thing that he had done in some time, and on some level it saddened him that she was even able to dream. It meant that she had left Heaven, but had not discovered a way to maintain her angelic connections in such a way to refrain from turning mortal. She was going downhill and fast. Sooner or later she would need to become human, and that was a whole other issue altogether. Eventually…she would die. Then what? She’d be stuck in Heaven, as a soul, trapped there. He almost felt pity for her. There were other options out there…
Simply curious? Oh really now? He was just…a little bit perturbed with her for her question. How silly it really was. How could she not see the advantage of Michael lying about his own brother? How could she not of figured that out on her own? Had things in Heaven gotten so out of control? Had Michael become more of a tyrant that Lucifer had suspected he might become? He needed to stay calm. Lucifer took a deep breath and lightly rubbed one side of his vessels face as he gathered himself back together. The Devil had such an urge to explode in a torrent of range and various bits of information, theories, and hypothesis about his own brother.
Now was not the time. Still, how could one be so…blind?
“Guilt?” he asked, further surprised. “Why would I feel guilt? His request was outrageous. After all we had done, given, all for Him, and it wasn’t enough? These creatures…one which you will become…are lower than us, in more ways than one. They have created such destruction upon His creation…More than I ever had or ever will do, mind you.” he spat out viciously.
“My only qualms are for loving Him so much, and for Him to deny that love in return. Any feelings of regret I have are with my Father, and my brother. Guilt or remorse for the human race, for them, I have none.”

But what you did was wrong,” Zerachiel stated simply. “Man was created in His image, of course they are superior. Our job is to serve them as we serve Father—that is our purpose.” She regarded the venomous tone of his voice, hesitant to further speak to the fallen angel. God commanded them all to bow down to humankind; she did not comprehend Lucifer’s inability to follow instructions, especially considering the Lord Himself issued the order to do so. His demand was not challenging nor was it difficult to understand, and as God’s creations, they should oblige Him, especially considering he had asked them for so little in return for the life he provided them—which was the greatest reward He could ever offer. Defying Him was a terrible sin, and Lucifer claimed his only crime was loving their Father, yet he chose to resist.
She had also sinned, however their reasons behind their rebellions were extremely different from one another. Zerachiel loved her brother, and although Michael’s intentions were sincere, he was wrong to risk numerous lives for a war between Heaven and Hell; there was a distinction between what was right and what one thought to be right. She merely hoped she had not chosen to walk the earth to satisfy herself, trusting God to lead her down the correct path. Her brethren may believe that He no longer cared for their wellbeing, but Zerachiel thought otherwise. Their Father would never abandon His children—He was always there watching over them. As a parent, he needed to step aside and allow his sons and daughters to grow; to stand on their own two feet or they would never learn to care for themselves.
“Though, out of all of us—your angelic brethren—you should be able to relate to humanity,” the angel ventured, albeit cautiously. “You have a mind of your own. You are different—like them.” Comparing Lucifer to those he loathed was unwise of her, though Zerachiel could not deny there were similarities. It was no secret God loved him most; it would not surprise her if He had molded Lucifer after Himself as well. If only the King of Hell had learned to look past his own ideals, and embrace the species he so infamously despised. But, apparently, God had another plan in mind.
