Russian Roulette is not the same without a gun... A frustrated sigh escaped the angel's lips as she peered at her phone one more time. She shifted her weight and lightly kicked a rock as she stuffed the phone back into her jean pocket. Shutting her eyes she gathered her mental strength and endurance. This Pagan soul had a habit of pressing her buttons, so why did she keep dealing with it? Why didn't she ignore his texts and voice mails? It puzzled her and not knowing why she was doing what she was made her quite frustrated.
She tried to keep herself calm but her vessel's laughter continued to ring in the back of her head. The human found this quite funny, whatever it was. Elizabeth didn't understand why this situation was so hilarious to Renae, but she tried to shrug it off. Renae had been helpful explaining some things - that Loki had been speaking in code. Elizabeth still didn't understand what this code was, but she was going to figure it out. After all, she had been dealing with Demons speaking in codes for quite some time...but why was figuring out this code so difficult?
So he had invited her to his current residence. She was surprised he had a residence at all. She had figured that Pagans were just as nomadic as a rogue angel like herself, but maybe she was wrong. There was something about all this that still...gnawed at the back of her brain. Like something wasn't added up right, but she couldn't tell what was wrong with this Loki person. Maybe that was why she continued to stay in contact. He was a puzzle and Elizabeth was determined to figure it out.
Elizabeth stretched out her wings, invisible to the human eye. Still, nobody was around, and she had made sure of it. He had given her the location of where he was at and she focused her mind on it. Within a matter of seconds she had vanished from a hotel - where yet another human body lay. She had completed her job there and in good timing. She was recharged...having kept the human soul for her own reasons instead of letting it be pulled to Heaven, Hell, or to stay lodged on Earth.
She opened her eyes to look at the room she was in. Her brows furrowed slightly as she stared at the strange decorations. The room looked like something from an old movies from the seventies or eighties. It was...lavish in a strange way, full of rich and warm colors, and...fuzzy things? Was that a fuzzy red chair in the corner? She blinked in confusion, wondering if he had decorated this place on his own or if it just...came like this. Again, she heard Renae laughing wildly in the back of her mind.
Elizabeth took a step forward, feeling her boot sink a bit into the soft carpet. She looked down to study the floor for a moment before her eyes scanned the rest of the room. So where was Loki? He should be here...The fact that she didn't see him severely concerned her. And baby, if it's not rough, it's not fun, hun...

Long time no see, Liz,” Gabriel greeted, materializing behind the angel. He folded his arms across his chest as he leaned against the adjacent wall, grinning up at his guest. Since their initial encounter, he had bumped into her—accidently on purpose—a couple times. In spite of her badass persona, he knew she wanted him. She may have resisted his signature waggling of the brows and charming pickup lines, as well as his overall swagga thus far, but it was only a matter of time before she submitted to her desires. Elizabeth was probably fantasizing about him this very minute, though who could blame her—he was sex on legs after all.
However, she didn’t have to bang him to gain his approval. Yeah, in the beginning his main objective was to simply jump her bones, though he was content with her company. He was starting to think he was the moth and she was the flame, because, hell, he couldn’t stop thinking about her; the usual floozies no longer interested him, not to mention, the angel was ten times better than any of his own illusions. Gabriel wasn’t just a lustful douche bag twenty-four seven; the Trickster had a heart believe it or not, he simply preferred to ignore it half the time. Being a dick was so much easier.
He couldn’t deny that he preferred Elizabeth’s individual qualities; of course, her vessel was smokin’ hot, though he discovered the face wasn’t as interesting—Jesus Christ, was he becoming a friggin’ pansy? It was also nice to talk to an angel who didn’t actually know who he was for once. The archangel kind of felt bad for lying to her, but it was for a good cause. First of all, he didn’t need his cover blown and have Michael and the God Squad on his ass, and most importantly, he didn’t want things to change between them—whatever they had. His reputation in Heaven wasn’t exactly first-rate considering he was the most notorious runaway. Sometimes it was better to run and hide than to own up to your mistakes. He merely couldn’t watch his family rip themselves apart; they may be a bunch of bitches, though he still loved them.
“What’s crackin’?” he asked, wondering if she would even understand the term. Gabriel did give her some props, she was learning, even if it was at very slow pace. Her lack of knowledge pertaining to the human lifestyle was uberly cute—so help him God, if said that again—anyway.
Jeez, the thing that woman did to him, and he didn’t regret any of it.

I want your horror, your design She heard his voice before she saw him and that caused the angel some slight distress. She hated, no, she absolutely loathed being snuck upon. What irked her more was that name he kept calling her. It wasn’t her true name as her name was Elizabeth – not Liz. She had repeatedly informed him of this. She had also gone on out of her way several times to correct him, not to mention threat, and inform him how much she despised being called that. Either he had not heard her, or he was just trying to be annoying. It was working, because it dug under her skin faster than most other things.
She turned around to face the sound of the voice. She gave him one of her usual glares of disapproval of his actions. Elizabeth clenched her hand, popping her vessel’s knuckles in the process of the action. He looked so relaxed, how could that be? She had wanted to slice him into bits, string him up by his intestines, among other things – but she couldn’t justify it. He was annoying, but he hadn’t done anything wrong. It was because of his repeated discretions that she had even contemplated changing her own personal rules. So far, she had not.
Elizabeth frowned as she looked at him. If only he knew how much damage she wanted to, well, could do. She had managed to get a good swing into his face once before, but other times he had been quite the speedy creature. All the time, that little warning in the back of her mind kept flashing. She was dealing with powers much greater than her but she had not realized it; she didn’t know that he was actually an arch angel. Of course, with his abilities, and the fact that he had been gone for so long…She and the rest of her siblings had thought that Gabriel had left for the far reaches of the universe, not Earth.
Maybe it was because she was separated from home, of course that was her own fault, but at a basic level she didn’t mind his company. There was something familiar about the interaction. She just couldn’t put her finger on it yet. She mimicked his physical movements by crossing her arms as well. She let out a soft breath, akin to a sigh as he asked her a question. “Nothing is ‘crackin’ Loki,” she said mockingly.
Whatever that meant. She didn’t know yet. The only thing that she could piece together was somebody breaking an egg open for nourishment reasons. Repeatedly Elizabeth had gone to her vessel for assistance with these phrases. Sometimes Renae would help and sometimes her vessel was just too amused to give a proper response back to the angel that inhabited the woman’s body.
She had partially forgotten why she was here in the first place. She knew he had invited her. She had said no, but she had teleported herself here. Elizabeth took a deep breath and looked at his current choice in housing and decoration. “So…This is your ‘crib?’ It is decorated strangely, ” she spoke with a confused frown. She hoped that she was using the term correctly. She looked back at Loki, slowly becoming more uncomfortable and uncertain as to why she was here. Cause you’re a criminal as long as you’re mine

The archangel chuckled in response—her reaction was priceless. Everything she said and did he found endearing; including her threats. He was no stranger to attraction, though he tended to lust after women, not grow attached to them. Gabriel wouldn’t mind some skin-on-skin action—to taste her, feel her—but getting her into his bed was no longer his primary goal. In fact, he actually wanted to get to know her, which frightened him a little. He’d been walking the earth for century upon century and never had he willfully wanted to know someone on a personal level. A part of him yearned to turn his back on these newfound feelings, afraid he’d somehow hurt her or she would hurt him. Elizabeth had simply walked right into his life, and her presence was powerful enough to transform his world; he wasn’t sure if he should embrace the change or run away like he always did when he wandered outside his comfort zone. Just standing in the same room with her made him weak in the knees and his vessel’s heart flutter within his chest; God, was she turning him into a giggling schoolgirl? He couldn’t let that happen, especially when he had a reputation to uphold.
“Yeah, this is my crib. Pretty nice digs, if I do say so myself,” he replied. “I’ve been told that I have a pretty damn good taste, but you pickup on the trends easier once you’ve been around for a few centuries.” Of course he didn’t lay about the house flipping through Country Living, Better Homes and Gardens, and the like, however, he wasn’t a noob when it came to decorating his pad; it had to look hot, otherwise the chicks wouldn’t want to stick around for too long. Nobody had ever said that is was decorated strangely, although what did you expect from an angel? The majority—if not all his brothers and sisters—probably had not one stylish bone in their body; their idea of a fine ass joint would be a ceiling, four walls, and a floor. “You don’t have a place to call your own?” Gabriel asked suddenly, arching an inquisitive brow. The thought had never crossed his mind before now; did she simply wander from city to city? Did she travel by herself? He was used to roaming the whole of the United States unaccompanied; it was a lot easier to dish out just desserts that way. He simply found companionship in the women he managed to charm, despite them being one-night stands.
Gabriel stepped forward, closing the space between them. On a whim, he brushed the stray strands of hair from her face, his fingers sweeping across her skin as he did; touching her, even if the contact was momentary, felt like an electrical current had forced its way into his body, coursing through his veins. The sensation was strange to him and he may have been alive and kickin’ since the dawn of time, yet he had never experienced such a reaction to another being; especially not one of his own. Stupefied, he recoiled, shoving his hands into his pockets for unwarranted protection. Hoping she hadn’t noticed his peculiar behavior, he quickly covered his tracks, gazing deviously up at Elizabeth through golden brown eyes. “You could always shack up with me if that’s the case,” he added suggestively, grin broadening. It was obvious he wanted her—did she reciprocate? Well, she was here after all; that had to mean something. He could probe her mind, except that would ruin all the fun, and honesty, he was afraid of what he might find there.

Leave all your love and your longing behind you
As he responded her eyes continued to flicker back and forth over the varying surfaces. She had been in human homes before, but never one that was decorated by a demi god. It was strange. Though she supposed if she had tried to decorate an abode it would not look very ‘normal’ either. She frowned in her confusion as she crossed her arms under her chest. Elizabeth flattened her lips together as she gave the room a final look before turning back to Loki. “I suppose,” she said, her confusion still dribbled into her tone.
“I am not certain of your kind, but we do not need to sleep. I do not have a need for a home. I can create whatever I need. I have very few possessions anyway,” she said calmly as she looked at his expressive face for what felt to be the millionth time. She was still struggling to get used to his gestures and facial movements. He was always doing something. Sometimes it was hard for her to follow, but she was a very still soul in the first place. He flowed like water, and while she did to, he was more of a rushing river; she a still pond. “So..no,” she finished with a small shrug.
She found it perplexing how he could infuriate her to the edge of murder and at other times he calmed her. It was strange and because she didn’t know why, it bothered her. She pulled her head back a little bit as he reached out and touched her hair and face. Months ago, she would have decked him and probably would have been half way to stabbing him with her knives. She had started to learn. Sure, it was a slow process, but considering how angels were just sort of…slow with learning in general – she thought she was going at a good pace. Elizabeth blinked as she noted that he had also moved away slightly.
“Shack up?” she asked softly with a slight tilt of her head.
She certainly didn’t know what that meant. This place didn’t look like a cradle for a small child in the first place, and now he was going to put a cabin over it? She didn’t think that a building like that would be structurally sound. Her expression changed as she shifted through Renae’s memories. She had one of those ‘ah ha’ moments. She looked at him for a moment and then lifted an eyebrow at him.
“Oh…” she said as she caught on to what he was implying.
A rogue angel living with a pagan…It just seemed like some horrible joke. She rubbed her head and rested her other hand upon her hip. “I appreciate the offer, Loki,” she said politely. Can't carry it with you if you want to survive [/blockquote]
