Forgive me Father, for I have sinned...
Freedom. Very few people really knew the word on a personal level. They didn't understand it's importance in life or how, liberating, being free really was. Weather it was from racial stigmatization, containment in a cell, or escape from a family. All of these forms were wonderful in their own right, but he, well he was really free. Free from the depths of his cage in Hell. Free, to walk the Earth at his leisure. Free, to do as he pleased, when he pleased, and do what he wanted to whom he pleased. This was a glorious afternoon in his eyes. Frankly, the Angels in Heaven should have been singing, but they would never sing for him. Never again. Unless things turned in his favor.
It was only a matter of time until the Choir sung his name and his praises, instead of his Fathers. Eventually the Winchesters would fall and give up their bodies to be used as vessels. Then the war could really begin and the second biggest battle in celestial history could finally get started. He was an impatient soul though. Weather it was the excitement of how close Judgement day was or his extreme personality, he wasn't quite sure. Either way, a new dawn was coming, and Hell on Earth would finally become a reality. It was so close he could almost taste it. Everything would settle as he saw fit. A large half smile crossed his face as his mind wandered onto how he envisioned each strike against Michael.
Sadly, it was not time. So, Lucifer had to entertain himself somehow before the big day. He had been wandering the Earth, causing mayhem where he went. He had twisted a few things here and there and watched the world's "Order" start crumbling to his feet. Yes, it was good to be free. He was enjoying every single slow second of it, but even after a causing simple chaos to the humans only went so far. They were funny, stupid, vile creatures, but there were bigger fish to fry. Humans were pawns, well, maybe not even that, but he was looking to torment some of the more important pieces.
Angels; once his great and wondrous kin and even after all these years, many of them still wanted to fight against him. It was a shame. They had to either change their ways and submit to him, or meet their final end. Some had wavered early on in celestial history and many more had fallen to his will over time. Still, he had a feeling he was going to give a little helpful nudge to some others. Lucifer never made anybody do anything. One of his greatest skills was to dig under the protective shell, plant seeds of doubt, and let their own minds work toward his will.
Castiel was in the same church as he. Was Lucifer following him? Maybe. Or maybe it was Fate that had brought them there today, fate to see Castiel finally see the error of his ways. Listening to God..What a fool. Castiel was also a bit on edge but he need not be. The sound of footsteps on floor of the abandoned church echoed and bounced off the walls. The deep sound of somebody humming an old hymn started to resonate around them. Lucifer smiled as he stepped closer so that Castiel could see him.
He opened his arms in a welcoming gesture as he stepped into the light. A cynical, yet warm, smile crossed over his features as he stood a few pews back. Castiel seemed to need his space, and Lucifer would politely give him that. He was dressed in a nicely pressed suit. One of a preacher. The white collar around his neck stood out in the darkness as it easily reflected what little light was in the room.
"Welcome, my brother..." he said, his deep voice cutting through the silence like a heated knife blade through thin flesh.
...A lot..

So let's hang up some anger, we'll bury our burdens in blood
He looked at his brother and his smile turned into a lightened smirk of amusement. Castiel's words were as dry as the Sahara in summer, and it always amused him to hear him speak. He understood less of human interaction than Lucifer did. He knew that Castiel would eventually catch onto the subtle phrases, but until now he was the butt of several jokes. Weather he knew it or not. Lucifer rested his arms back down at his sides as he looked at Cas and shook his head. He expected too much of him, to obtain the irony of how he was dressed currently. He leaned back on his heels as he felt the presence of his brother.
His smile widened, a frightening thing to see if one knew who he was. The Devil laughed at Gabriel, weather or not the other archangel was trying to offend, he didn't care right now. Later it would sting, but for now, this was all in good fun.
"Well isn't it God's cosmic joke in the flesh, Gabriel," he said with a laugh. It was somewhat of an insult, a stick in Gabe's side for having vanished from Heaven faster than a hooker after seeing a cop.
He hadn't laughed this much sense he was still a member of Heaven. It was odd but he was embracing it. Still, he was surprised to see Gabriel here. He had taken off quite early and came here? How...sad, that was. Even though he had been in Hell, he had managed to keep loose tabs on what his brothers and sisters were doing. Gabriel had been a tough one to keep track of. Lucifer had not known what he was doing until the Winchester boys were involved. Boy did those names get a lot of gossip to them. In a sense Lucifer was proud of Gabriel's tricky achievements, after all, he had taught him everything The Trickster knew.
Lucifer watched Castiel as he gestured towards him. He pretended to be hurt, placing a hand on his chest. He let in a small fake gasp of surprise. As quickly as his expression had turned from hurt it went to a very cold and business like stare.
"How dare you speak of Nick this way, Castiel. You know I'm just waiting on a newer model to come off the lot..." he said with a smile that only the Devil could give.
Lucifer really doubted that Cas would be able to grasp what he had just said, but he knew Gabe would. In all honesty he had been trying to keep Nick healthy. He had put in a lot of miles in this vessel already, and he had been giving the human body frequent repairs. He really didn't want to waste his time looking for another vessel at the moment. Nick, though beat up and burned, was good enough for him right now.
They were right in one way. Something about this outfit was bothering him. It was the collar. He pulled it off and crumpled it in his hands as the other two angels talked for a brief moment. He pulled a cigarette pack from his pocket as he continued to crush the white symbol in his hand. The material was turning into a fine powder and in a blink of an eye it started to burn. He leaned forward as he lit the cigarette with the burning collar and turned his hand over to let the burning filaments fall to the ground.
"I don't believe this party was planned, besides, nobody would have expected you to show up anyway, he spoke to Gabriel as he pressed his fingers against the filter and removed the tobacco tube from his lips while he exhaled.
What a family reunion this was going to be..
No this is not your playground
