RICHMOND, VIRGINIA
Margaret struggled not to shake as she walked down the street. It was late afternoon on a cloudy day so she didn't have to worry about the sun and getting a nasty burn. She had also brought a hat with her and stuffed it in her purse just in case.
Not many people were out and about but Margaret still didn't feel comfortable. Cars would occassionally zoom past and some of the restaurants were opening their windows because of the nice balmy weather and loud music was drifting down the street.
She bit her lower lip, hesitating before crossing the street as the sign showed the little person on it. Sometimes she forgot such simple human things because of her seclusion but Margaret knew she would have to learn a lot more quickly in order to survive. It was rumored that hunters were in the area and she was terrified.
It had been quite a while since Margaret had encountered hunters and even then they had recognized what she was right off the back. She didn't want to run into anymore and have to run for her life. She was so preoccupied with her worries that Margaret forgot to pay attention to what she was doing and ran into pole, dropping to the ground and holding a hand against her head. "Ugh..." Her day was already begining so lovely.

Jason had just stepped out of a rather retro bookstore that happened to be settled on the town's main shopping square. Pulling out the town map he had just bought from inside the bookstore he gave it a quick glance over as he tried to decide where the nearest motel was. If he was going to be here for a day or more he was going to need a decent place to sleep when he was not running around the town.
After a minuet or two passed he found a motel on the map that looked like it was not too far away, and began walking that that direction. At the same he looked around the square looking for landmark that stuck out so he would be able to find his way around the town without having to rely on the map all the time.
He skirted around a rather large crowd of people on the sidewalk so seemed quite eager to block most of the walkway. After they had passed Jason looked up just in time to see a woman with dark hair walking. He had been just been about to look away when she suddenly walked into one of the light poles on the sidewalk. He grimaced at the sight as if he felt the pain as well, and before he could help himself he was jogging over to her.
"I'm sorry miss but are you ok?" he asked he a he stood a few feet away to give her some personal space as he looked to see if she was bruised or bleeding.

No, no, no, no, no! Margaret couldn't believe her luck. The one day she thought she wouldn't have to deal with people and she actually attracted attention to herself. The fall and hitting herself wasn't the most graceful action but Margaret was used to others laughing at her clumsiness and walking away without even bothering to see if she was all right or not. She winced, more from being talked to then from pain.
This was the first time she had talked to a man in a few weeks. Margaret had staked out the motels she stayed out beforehand in order to deal with a woman employee just because her stuttering and nerves got even worse with men. Especially attractive men. Like this very nice gentleman in front of her. If she had still been human Margaret would have appreciated his concern.
"A-aahhh I'm f-fine!" Margaret tried to stutter quickly, shakily getting to her feet. She touched her forehead hesitantly and saw blood. "O-oh...n-no. I-I guess n-not." She stuttered out, not wanting to lie but also just wishing the man would disappear.

"Why don't we get you somewhere to sit?" Jason asked the young woman and offered her a hand as she seemed to be a little disoriented from the fall. He grimaced slightly as he noticed the splotch of blood on her forehead but did not say anything as he had not wanted to scare her. Sometimes even the mention of blood would set people into a hysterical frenzy, which only caused more trouble.
He carefully took a hold of her elbow and began to slowly walk her down the street and looking for any sign of a bench along the sidewalk. So far he wasn't having much luck but he was not going to give up until he found one.
"Are you feeling dizzy or light headed?" he asked he as they walked. He hoped he was not moving to fast for her as he had no way of knowing how much pain she was feeling right that moment. She seemed to be dealing with it pretty well but then again sometimes people were good at hiding their physical pain. Still he slowed his pace just in case and hoped that she would speak up if she was not feeling well.

"N-no. I-I'm f-fine...really...!" Margaret started, hoping to try to dissuade this man from helping her. She still wasn't comfortable with people. Vampires, humans... it didn't matter- they all frightened her. "Y-you d-don't h-have to go to all t-this trouble f-for me." She tried to hold back her stuttering, even more humiliated and fearful than before.
She felt a flush rise to her cheeks when he took hold of her elbow, trying to stifle back the butterflies in her stomach. Oh why did he have to be so attractive... she wanted to whine.
"Please...I'm okay." Margaret managed to keep the stutter out of her voice for just a moment before she almost lost it again. This really wasn't a good day for her, she could alreaady tell from this. Panic almost welled up into her gut as she thought of all the possibilites. This man could be a hunter, or another vampire...or maybe just a violent man who put on a friendly front. There were so many bad possibilites that it almost made her head spin.

Even though she seemed adamant about being alright Jason could tell that she was lying. He would have felt bad if he had just left her there without trying to help her at all. What if she collapsed or something because of her injury he would have felt responsible for that.
"It's no trouble at all, besides the least I can do is make sure that you're ok." he told her clearly ignoring the fact that she was stuttering pretty badly. It would have probably made her even more embarrassed and blush even harder if he had said something about that, but Jason was not that sort of person.
"There's a bench over there." Jason had said to Margaret pointed over to a iron bench that was a little ways down the street. He kept his even pace and lead her over to the small little open area where the free bench was. Though along the way they had to skirt around a few people but they had finally made it after a few minuets. Jason then motioned for her to take a seat so she could get off her feet.

"H-honestly, you don't have to worry about me. I h-hit my head and t-trip and clumsy things l-like that a-all the time." Margaret murmured, working on pushing her stutter down. It would be less embarrassing to talk without it and it would stop hindering her efforts at seeming like she was okay.
Margaret took a seat but all the while felt nervous and uncomfortable. He was a very attractive man and human. Possibly a hunter, because she could never be too careful these days. Sometimes it felt as if the whole world was out to get her and doom her right from the very start. "T-than you." She finally mumbled, resigned to being watched over at least for the time being.
If he figured out what she was then Margaret would be fine because she was already trying to formulate an escape plan. The street was fairly empty so even if she made a scene she could probably slip away quickly and easily.

"Well if this sort of thing happens regularly then that makes me worry even more." Jason replied to her is a slightly teasing tone, but it was easy to also here the underlining tone of concern his voice held. He waited patiently until her nervousness calmed down as he imagined it must have been difficult.
He glanced back at her forehead to see if she was still bleeding, but it seemed like it was not that deep or gushing as much as it was a moment ago. Which relieved him as he did not want to have to drag her to the hospital which he had no idea where it was even located. But since her injury did not look as bad as he thought he guessed the trip to the doctor's office could wait a little bit.
"No problem." he responded as he had heard her thank you, and reached into a pocket and pulled out a napkin he had stuffed in there. He checked it to make sure that there was no stain on it. It might have been severely crumpled but it was better than nothing. He offered it to Margaret to wipe off whatever blood was still on her forehead.

Margaret swallowed down her nerves and shook her head lightly, "N-no...I just...I'm kind of clumsy so I've gotten used to the pain. It's not that bad." She tugged at the material of her skirt a bit to try to stop fidgeting though it was just as bad as her stuttering. She tried to take a deep breath and let go of the skirt, folding her hands on her lap temporarily. Oh, what a mess. One moment of not paying attention and she had caused all this.
"You are too kind," Margaret mumbled softly, shyly taking the napkin and pushed it up to her forehead to stop the bleeding. It worked within moments though the dizziness was still threatening to sweep her off her balance. Maybe finding this bench really was a good idea. Her breathing threatened to become swifter- akin to hyperventilating- but Margaret managed to stifle that down to, pulling the napkin from her forehead and almost gasping at the blood. It looked worse than it was. Though she hungered for human blood, seeing her own blood was sickening. "O-oh!"
