I cannot leave Lucifer was growing restless. The time for freedom was nearing and steps were needing to be taken to get everything in place. He had spoken to Lilith earlier but he had not heard from her for what seemed like forever. It didn't help that time worked differently here and it was testing his patience. Lucifer, still trapped without a vessel, and in the Pit was just beside himself with frustration.
He had to get things started or he was finally going to start losing his sanity in here. There was one outlet that he could reach out through - dreams, and 'phone calls'. Of course Demons had to make a sacrifice to talk to him, but this time...he was the one making the call. Lucifer had spent days searching for some demonic soul that was worthy of the task he was about to give. One demon in particular struck his fancy. Her name was Ruby.
Demons didn't need to dream, well not unless they wanted to. But he could still reach them through the bodies they used. Once possessed, the human entered a sort of dream like state, unless they were already dead. Of course, the channels were still the same. He focused his energy and stretched his powers out from the deepest, darkest, parts of Hell in his task to reach Ruby.
Of course he couldn't show his true form to her. So he had done some research on other souls on Earth that could be his vessel. There was a sandy haired man named Nick. He had a wife and child currently - something else Lucifer was going to work on later down the road. Nick would be a good temporary vessel once everything else was in place. He was going to be a stepping stone on the path to the Apocalypse, but the image of this man was good enough for now.
After all, he didn't want to damage the body that Ruby was currently using. So the Devil wormed his way to Ruby's meat suit. He hoped this wasn't a bad time for her to go into a surprise coma. Well, if anything else she would be sent to Hell and he could kick her back out onto Earth if something happened to her.
So Lucifer appeared, in the spitting image of Nick Aaron, in the middle of what looked to be a field. He looked around at the dream that he was currently infesting. He quirked a brow and wandered around the dream. Lucifer crossed his arms, very impatient with the world. The sky in the dream was a soft blue, white fluffy clouds drifted by and here and there birds were singing. To most humans this was a beautiful scene. Not to Him though, cause he hadn't found Ruby yet.
In his impatience the dream started to shift. The clouds slowly started to turn grey and swirl above his head, as if a tornado was threatening to form. Lucifer stood there, waiting for Ruby to find him. After all, he had done quite a bit of work to just get here. But I cannot stay here

Ruby was exhausted beyond belief. She was getting quite impatient with other demons not talking to her and it was making her quite cranky. After a while she just began killing the ones that didn't answer her questions. They did however put up a fight and that alone had wore her out. She wasn't one who got tired often if ever but today was an exception. The blonde found an abandoned house with a junky mattress. In seconds she was passed out on it and soon she was in a dream. It wasn't a very nice one either, the sky was dark and it sounded like rain was coming. She looked around, trying to figure out how she got here. Something told her this wasn't your everyday kinda dream.
"Who brought me here?" she asked, looking around before spotting someone. At first glance she didn't recognize who it was but it didn't take her long to figure it out. "Lucifer?" she asked though she already knew the answer. It was then a smile broke out across her face. Ruby wasn't one to smile at all. Most demons smiled, some did it when they were enjoying the torture they brought to others. Ruby didn't torture humans well at least not enough to where people that liked to hunt her would find out. So for her to smile it was something new.
"Well this is an honor I wasn't expecting but I am quite delighted to have happened." she told him. Ruby didn't hate all evil, she just didn't like Lilith. For someone to honestly believe she wasn't filled with evil was beyond her. Lucifer was one evil she enjoyed with great pleasure. She knew her bible and he was suppose to be one of the most beautiful angels ever created. He made evil beautiful in her eyes.
"So to what do I owe this pleasure?" Ruby asked. She highly doubt he called her to sip tea and chit chat. Call her crazy but she didn't find it to be his cup of tea and it surely wasn't hers. "I assume you've reached me for a very good reason." she said. Ruby walked around the setting he had created in her dream. Everything was dark and it kinda brought delight to her life. Don't get her wrong, Ruby enjoyed being in sunlight but it got old after a while.
She had a small fear that was nawing at her. Ruby had been helping Sam and Dean off a few demons and sure it was so they would think she was on their side but still, Lucifer could easily hurt her. Maybe not through a dream but once he got free he could. Despite this fear something told her that she didn't need to worry about him offing her and sending her to hell. "You'd think that after being in hell you'd want just a bit of light in your life." she added, her eyes still looking around the dream. "This one isn't so bad though. Reminds me a bit of hell to be honest." Ruby told him, a wicked smile on her face.

Turn around, they might be watching The fallen angel kept his eyes peeled for any movement within this little reality. He crossed his arms and started to wander a bit in his boredom. Then again, the scenery here was much more to look at than what was available in the Pit. So, Lucifer took his time and ‘smelled the roses’ so to speak. It was then he spotted a blonde in the distance. A slow smile spread over his lips as he noticed her in the distance, coming closer by the second. His smile turned into a shining grin as he heard his name come from her lips. The Devil gave a slight nod in response.
As she came closer he uncrossed his arms and rested them lightly at his sides. As she spoke he quietly listened to her words, taking them in. Oh flattery, it was a joyous thing, and he wasn’t one to stop somebody from speaking highly of him. He chuckled as he shifted his weight in the tall grasses.
“I have a very special task for you, Ruby,” Lucifer said coolly. Clever girl, this was a special occasion. He wasn’t going to pick some lowly schmuck of a demon for this task. He needed somebody he could trust, somebody calculating, somebody…almost human. From what he had gathered via the Demonic network, Ruby had the tiniest sliver of humanity within her.
He had also gathered that she had been…running with the enemy. Well, the Winchesters were not his true foes – that was his brother’s occupation. Still, he needed somebody to deliver the boys to him. He needed them alive, and he needed Sam most of all. Ruby’s little…journey to their side had only caused him to put her higher up on the list of prospective demons that would be able to do what he needed.
“I make my own light in the Pit,” he commented back about the scenery. He was the brightest and most beautiful angel in all of Heaven’s creation. So the darkness here was a little bit of a reprieve from his shine. “I didn’t come here to talk about lighting arrangements, darling,” he said, softly pushing the subject of the dream scenery out of the way.
In another time, another place, he would have gladly talked about the view here, but this was dreadfully important to him. So, Lucifer was all business for now. They could talk of more pleasant things once everything was properly addressed.
“You’re an interesting Demon, Ruby. Interesting enough to be the subject of gossip you’re your siblings,” Lucifer kept tabs on a lot of things, from Heaven, Hell, and Earth. He was quite the busy angel. “The time…has finally come, where I can be released from this little box,” he hissed with much distain for his current ‘home’. “Azazel’s task, may he rest in peace, has been completed, but there are some finishing touches I need done before the time is right,” he said somberly, he had enjoyed Azazel. “And now, it’s your turn to step up to the plate, my dear.” And you’ll never disappoint them

Ruby was always happy to please Lucifer. He was after all the one person she looked up too, so obviously she'd do as he asked of her. "Anything you want sir." she told him. She found it an honor for the all mighty Lucifer to give her a special task. It wasn't every day someone was asked to assist him. Ruby shifted her weight from one leg to the other, as she stood there with her hands propped up on her hips, waiting for him to continue on with what he wanted her to do. The better question was why he even wanted her for this job, but she wasn't going to ask. The last thing she wanted was for him to take it and give it to another demon.
It was very true, he did make his own light. It had been a while since she'd seen lucifer and it didn't matter whose form she saw him in nor what form, he was truly gorgeous. The bible business hadn't been lying. Made her wonder what Michael looked like. Was he even close to being as beautifully scuplted as Lucifer? That thought quickly went out her mind as he told her lighting arrangements weren't what he brought her for. Then she remembered there was a reason she was there. All she did was nod at him, waiting for him to continue on as to why he brought her here in the first place.
Of course Ruby was gossiped about when it came to other demons. She was however, quite a busy demon, what with helping the Winchesters out here and there. Plus that small shred of humanity she still had left. How she couldn't wait to get rid of it. Then he told her what her task was. He wanted free. A small smile crept onto her lips. Finally he would rule the world again, kind of excited her. Some demons didn't speak of Lucifer, he honestly frightened them, but Ruby? Ruby wasn't frightened. He didn't believe that he would hurt them like some did. He was an angel after all, whether God or that Michael fellow wanted to believe it. Everyone knew demons weren't the reason he was here.
"Tell me how to help and I will." she told him. She hadn't quite expected his task, not one this serious, but she'd gladly step up to the plate as he had said, and take it. All she had to know is what he wanted her to do. Ruby didn't care if it was a hard task or a simple task, she'd do it. Judging by the fact he didn't call on any random demon though, said it wasn't going to be a very simple task. It would take work she knew that much, and she'd be willing to do it. Ruby didn't like to please or answer to many demons. Lucifer wasn't a demon though, he was an angel. A wicked angel, who in her eyes, deserved to get his revenge on anyone he wished. The only way she had ever heard he could do that, was by being released. "All you got to do is tell me what I must do and I'll get it done." she told him.

So here we are and I’m in your head
A slow and contented smirk started to play on his face. He did enjoy hearing the words of a loyalty from his little ones. The smirk turned into a happy smile as he nodded at her words. Oh yes, the Devil did love it when a plan started to fall in place perfectly. He took a few steps forward, gesturing with his hands when he started to talk. He did a lot of that, gesturing with his hands. It was one of his favorite methods of body language.
“I am quite pleased to hear that, dearest Ruby,” Lucifer said coolly.
As she reconfirmed his pleasure his smile only widened. Lucifer stepped closer, only a few feet away from the demon now. Oh he loved all his children, to some extent. Still, there were those, like Ruby and Meg who’s undying loyalty was worth weight in gold..Or angelic blades sense they were far more valuable than gold. He smirked to her. “Excellent,” he said before he started to speak once more, “This is a delicate plan, subtle, and it will need expert care and affection,” he said, as his voice let out a soft purr.
“Sense dear Azazel is no longer with us, I need somebody to take his role in keeping Sammy boy in check. It seems you have already made a sort of…connection with the Winchesters,” he said with a faint grin on his face. “I believe that would be quite useful for you as well,”’ the devil spoke as he shifted his weight, lightly pressing a finger to his lips as he paused.
“The boy needs to get back to his blood hungry roots,” Lucifer said with a contented grin. “It does a body good, and he will need his strength. Now you can use whatever methods you chose. That does not matter to me,” the Devil said with a slight flick of his wrist. He really didn’t care how Sam’s addiction got kicked into a meth head like frenzy. “Just as long as it gets done. I need him rip roaring and ready to break the last seal when the time comes,”
He took another step forward and lightly touched her cheek. The low temperature that resonated off of his fingers was quite intense, but his movements were gentle. "So are you up for the task, dear little Ruby?" I’you’re your heart [/blockquote]
