JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA
What a lovely day. Two hunters dead and a great many to go yet. The blood stains on his hand wouldn't go away but by now he had washed and sanitized them enough that it looked like some bout of fruit juice powder-strong stuff, most likely one from a batch of raspberry- was on his hands. That stuff was a bitch to take care of. James only knew because he had spilled some all over the floor when he was younger and at a birthday party. It took hours to clean that stuff off the floor and by then his hands had turned bright pink. But thinking about the past like this was useless. It only reminded him how much a fool he had been before joining the demons. He had new loyalties now.
The cool fresh breeze was surprising, creating a small difference in temperature in the balmy beaches of Jacksonville. It was only a temperary change and soon enough there wasn't anything cool around. James watched with veily eyes as families, and other people stalked the streets, parked wherever they could and flocked to the beach. He never understood why people were crazy about tropical weather. It seemed irrational. Why would you want so much heat? Wouldn't a temperate climate be better?
At the very least James was able to find lots of hunters down here and elimate them quickly. That was the only reason he was there to begin with. But now, it was time to take a break before his bloodlust took control and he broke his cover. Only a limited amount of people knew what he was and whose side he truly was on but the ones he had been worried about flew to England in fear. He hated cowardice so he chose to ignore them. They can try running but eventually something would get them anyway.
Food. Drink. Rest? Hmmmm. It was hard to decide what James wanted most. He hardly slept as it was and it was bright with the sun still in middle of the sky just hanging there like everything was all right. James wanted to laugh derisively. Everything was living hell in this world and it pleased him to know that some would be learning that quite soon. Now then... to find out what he wanted. He glimpsed over to the other side of the street to find a bar. It was flashy and had lots of hot girls inside. Maybe he'd take a break to buy a drink and get a little something extra tonight? James sauntered over to the bar, entering with a serious sort of grace but then flashing a brilliant smile at the ladies who eyed him as he entered. This was how he liked to make an entrance.

The sun was beating down from the middle of the sky. Yaritza looked up through her designer sunglasses. The sun was hot the waves were cool. It was a perfect day. Now if only there weren't so many kids around. Yaritza scoffed at them as she walked the beach. She had just arrived in the united states the night before. Brazil was a whole different world compared to this hell hole. Yaritza longed for the cool shadows of the jungle. But right now she would have to deal with the shadows of skyscrapers and factories. She needed to find the Hunter who had found the substance that pretty much makes her useless. Yaritza couldn't have that.
Yaritza walked along past all the familes. She was wearing short white shorts with a aqua vintage halter top. Her feet were adorned in white canvas strappy heels. Her hair was down and flowing free in the wind. She smiled as she saw all the men looking at her. But she didn't need them now. She needed a demon or someone who had connections with demons to help her.
She soon came across a small bar. It looked flashy and had a lot of people inside dancing and drinking. Maybe she would find one here. Yaritza walked across the floor and straight to the bar. She sat down elegantly and ordered a martini. She sat there and watched all the people inside, trying to find one who was possessed. She looked over and saw someone sitting next to her. She noticed the stains on his hands. That wasn't kool-aid she knew that from experience. She walked over and sat closer to him. She smiled her brightest smile.
"I was wondering if you could help me. In exchange I can tell you how to get those.....kool-aid.....stains off your hands."

James cocked an eyebrow at her, eyes wild and taking the woman in. She was a looker with beautiful blonde hair and a smile that held secrets. His kind of lady for sure. “I’d be mighty grateful,” His southern accent slipped out as he put on his most charming mask on. She wasn’t a hunter…definitely something else and trained. Now what sort secrets were hidden behind that smile. And what did that delicious body look like underneath. Ah, he waved the thoughts aside for the moment since he was in a public place. Maybe there would be time to enjoy himself later and if this girl wasn’t interested then he would have to go to whatever the town had for…entertainment.
The stance of her body and the expression on her face told him that she was not what she appeared. He might have some fun with her or at least get to kill another hunter if that was what she was asking for. “What sort of help do you need?” Usually he was the one to go up to others and flash his southern charm in their faces to try to get a good time or pull the wool over some foolish hunters eyes and kill them. Occasional he’d run into a demon and offer to help them. But to be approached himself? Now that was interesting.

Yaritza smiled at him and sipped at her drink. She looked him up and down. A mortal obviously but something was off about him. She couldn't pin point it. But she had to admit he was easy on the eyes. Under different circumstances she would have taken him as a lover. She would have sang her song and he would have been under her spell. It would have been easy. But she needed him clear headed for this if he was to help her. He had the potential to be useful but he couldn't do that with his head muddled with thoughts of love and adoration.
She took the pick with the olive out of her martini and plopped it into her mouth. She slid the stick out and placed it in the empty martini glass. She crossed her elegant long legs and glanced up at him through her piercing blue eyes.
"I need to find someone. Someone who knows something that could be potentially dangerous to a woman like me. You seem like a man who could help. I'm Yaritza Castelli, by the way."
An image of the lake she was born in flashed in her mind. She could easily smell the leaves and flowers of the rainforest surrounding it. She could feel the humidity on her bare arms. Yaritza absentmindedly reached for the pendant around her neck. It carried the water from that lake. She released it then smiled back at the man next to her.

James liked this girl. She had a sort of spark about her that both attracted and amused him. “Give me a name or description of this person and I’ll be able to help you. I want to know what I’m up against before I sign on.” Well, not a complete lie. He did like to be prepared but sometimes the surprise of the chase intrigued him.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Yaritza. The name is James Hughes.” He offered his hand, wanting to pick up that gorgeous hand of hers and leave a lingering kiss on it. It was an expression of chivalry not much practiced anymore but he wanted to impress. The gesture also blended perfectly with his guise of a charming southern gentleman. Nobody, not anyone normal anyway, would be able to tell from looking at him that he had blood and death on his mind at all times he wasn’t preoccupied with lovely woman and sex.
He eyed the pendant that she fingered with narrow curious eyes before smirking and meeting her gaze again. Whatever secrets this lady was holding back, he could just taste how amazing they were already. James wondered briefly if he could mix a bit of pleasure with his business this evening. "Now tell me all about your...problem..."

Yaritza let him take her hand. She felt his lips brush against her skin. he was like the perfect gentleman but she could still see the blood stains on his hands. She knew there was something dark behind those gorgeous eyes of his. She looked around the bar. It was too crowed here. She couldn't explain everything she needed to here but she was sure that James could help her. She gently took his hand and led him outside. to anyone else it would seem they were leaving together but she knew that he knew it was different. She made her way to the beach. The sun was down and it was dark but she could still hear the waves. She turned back to him and smiled with that secretive smile.
"Well, James. I'm am Iara. There is a hunter somewhere around here that has a substance that makes my song useless. I need to find him and kill him before he tells anyone else of this. I need my song to survive and no hunter is going to take that away from me. Can you help me or not? I know you have blood on your hands and I'm thinking you're the man who can help me."

Somewhere private? James had been caught off guard when Yaritza dragged him off outside. Okay, dragged was a bit overdramatic seeing as he had come along willingly. He was adept at dealing with forceful women but still was often surprised at how forceful they ended up being. “An Iara? You mean like a siren from those Greek myths?” The corners of his lips turned up in a wicked smirk. “How amusing. It’s a pleasure to meet such a beautiful creature.”
Her words excited him, made him thirst for more blood but he had enough control not to show it on his face. Years of dealing with his violent attitude toward life had helped him wait for the perfect moment for anything he wished. Control was a gift and if used wisely would reap many benefits.“Killing a hunter? That sounds like a wonderful plan to me. I can help you.” Especially after killing two fresh off. A third one to the day would be a fine addition. “I’ll help ya but I require a price.” Nothing related to money but a price nonetheless. James never did anything for free.

Yaritza smiled a wicked smile. This was what she had been waiting for. She craved for the blood of this stupid hunter on her hands. She usually made her lovers do the killing for her but this one she wanted to do herself. This threatened not only her but all of the Iaras. This was her species; her people. You could see the lust in her eyes as she thought about killing this hunter with her bare hands. Of watching the life leave his eyes. She curled her toes in the sand and smiled back up at James.
Of course he wanted something in return. She would expect nothing less. He may be human but she could tell that he was smart and he had done his share of killing. She smoothed her shirt and glanced up at him. She walked over to him.
"And what exactly do you want, James?"

How positively wicked. Yaritza was proving to be a very dark and seductive woman. He could already feel his body warming up at the prospect of killing and…thoughts of the price he would ask. He watched her with hooded eyes briefly before he figured out exactly what he wanted from this deal.
“I want sex. A one night stand’ll do but I want to be clear-headed. I don’t want you doing any of your spells.” James smirked. He didn’t have much personal experience with Iara’s but he had heard about the spells they could do to make their lovers cling to them. James didn’t want to be caught in a web that he couldn’t escape.
“Give me that and I’ll help you kill this hunter.” James would have done the deed for free if she had been unattractive but things were different when a beautiful vixen was in front of you and asking for help. She was dangerous and James loved it.

Yaritza smiled a very deviant and wicked smile. You could see the fire flash in her eyes as she slowly walked over to James. She made sure her hips moved the right way. She brushed her hair back with her hand and flicked her eyes up for just a moment. She looked him up and down. He was very good ooking she had to admit. He was also very bold. No man would have made such a demand to her if they knew what she was. She liked him. This was a first for her where she was actually considering the thought of letting his mind be free from her song. She got close enough to him where she could smell his scent. She put her hand on his chest and flicked her eyes up to meet his. She spoke in a very sultry voice. The words falling from her lips like molten lava.
"Now my dear James, why would you think I would do that to do? I want you as clear headed as you can be."
She slid her hand from his chest and walked past him back towards the street. They would find some place to go she knew that. But maybe she could keep this one around for just a little bit longer. She looked back over her shoulder at him. He would follow. This was what he wanted after all. And soon she would get what she wanted.

James laughed darkly, “Sweetheart, I don’t trust anybody. I just want you to know how this is gonna run. No spells and you’ll have a very attentive lover.” He had the best skills in bed with a clear head. And when he desired the person with the same dark passion that consumed him eliminating those hunters. He was a hundred percent certain that if she played any games with him that he’d lose that special touch that had most of his lovers begging for more.
He was tempted to pull out a celebratory cigarette from his pocket and take a couple drags but refrained, deciding it would be best to have the sweet taste of this beautiful Iara in his mouth. James didn’t want to hinder any of his pleasure devouring those lovely lips. James’ licked his lips discreetly, watching Yaritza’s swaying hips as he followed her and had to force down the urge to smirk haughtily at having caught such a catch for a lay.

Yaritza kept walking ahead of him. She watched everyone around her. Oh she could have them all if she wanted. She could feel James's eyes on her as she walked in front of him. She liked this country so far. She slowed down and waited for James to catch up with her. She had no idea where she was going or if he even had a place in mind.. She looked back at him.
"So do you have a place in mind?"
He was so attractive. She couldn't wait to taste his lips and to feel his hands on her body. She usually didn't act this way around men. They acted this way around her.

James’ raised an eyebrow with a sly grin. She didn’t even know a place. Well now, that wasn’t any big thing. He leaned over her a bit, hooking his arm with her and holding her hand almost possessively in his larger ones. “I know the perfect place.” His hotel was nice and flashy with all the accommodations and luxury he could find. James refused to take anywhere that was unsuitable for his lavish tastes and even when he was only coming to a city to kill a hunter, he wanted the best of the best. Maybe it was not the smartest move considering he was noticed a whole lot more but that added to the adrenaline of the challenge. Making missions dangerous was an added bonus.
“Now tell me, Yaritza, is there anything you require? Do you like champagne?” James wasn’t partial to champagne but he did like to spoil his lovers a bit before delving deeper into unknown territory.
